Fall Concert

Our Fall Concert is on Monday, October 7th at 7:00pm at the Robinson Fine Arts Center (1800 Alma Dr., Plano 75075).

Students are required to wear their concert black uniforms (see handbook and google classroom assignment for more details).

The "call time" (musician speak for performer arrival times before the scheduled performance time) will be 6:40pm.

Please feel free to invite lots of friends and family - this is a great space to perform in and we don't get access to it very often!

Orchestra T-shirts and Hoodies

Our anticipated delivery date for student t-shirts and hoodies, as well as spirit shirt orders, is Wednesday, October 23rd.  We will plan on distributing shirts and hoodies as soon as possible after delivery.  If you have not yet paid your student's program fee, please do so as soon as possible!  We will hold t-shirts/hoodies for students who have not yet paid their program fee.

10th Grade Day @ Plano Senior

On Thursday, October 24th, Clark Orchestra Sophomores will travel to Plano Senior during the school day to participate in a Side-by-Side Orchestra event with the Plano Senior High orchestras.  This event is no cost for our students.

A permission form will be handed out in classes today and is due by Friday, October 11th.

Please note that in order for your student to participate they need to be academically eligible - meaning pass all of their classes for the 1st nine weeks.

Assuming we receive our orchestra t-shirts and hoodies by the anticipated delivery date students will be expected to wear their orchestra t-shirts and jeans for the trip.

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunity (Cat Chow)

We are still waiting on some other final details, but we wanted to put this information on your radar for any parents who might be interested in volunteering/helping out.

The Fall Cat Chow (a "stay day" type event during lunch where the PTSA hosts food trucks, etc. for students during the lunch periods) is scheduled for Friday, November 15th.

This is a fun event for students and a great fundraising opportunity for the PTSA and participating Booster Clubs (which includes us!).  In order to earn a share of the proceeds from the event we will need to provide a minimum of 5 parent volunteers for each of 2 shifts that day.  The first shift will be approximately 10am-12pm and the second will be approximately 12pm-2pm.

If you think you might be available to help out with this please put that date on your calendar!  We will share more information once we receive it from the PTSA.

Also, if you aren't able to volunteer your time, each participating Booster Club will be asked to donate a set amount of bottled drinks and/or snacks.  We will share that info as well as soon as we get it and would greatly appreciate any donations you might be willing to make.

Booster Club Needs

Thank you to the parents that have already expressed interest in helping out with this year's Booster Club!  The Booster Club is currently still in need of parents to volunteer and fill the following positions:

  • Co-Treasurer
  • 10th Grade Parent Representative

The simple truth is that our Booster Club can NOT function without these vital board member/volunteers.  Without the Clark Orchestra Boosters, and the generous time and energy given by Clark Orchestra parents your student's orchestra education will be definitively less complete.

Students don't just learn to play an instrument in orchestra, they learn many life skills including:

  • Time management
  • Determination
  • Curiosity
  • Collaboration and teamwork
  • Grit

PLEASE consider volunteering today!

If you are interested in volunteering please fill out this google form: https://tinyurl.com/corchbooster2425.  Even if you aren't able to volunteer, please take a moment to fill out the form so that the booster club can gauge interest in a parent/family t-shirt offering.
